BROCCOLI
Broccoli is a colourful, filling vegetable that’s packed with a range of vitamins and minerals. Broccoli can be eaten raw but blanching it quickly in boiling water helps give it a more crisp-tender texture and bring out its flavour. Broccoli can also be steamed and roasted.

CHARACTERISTICS
Fresh, compact heads; 3-6 narrow outer leaves retained; stalks clean and well trimmed with even, clean fresh cuts (light green to creamy in colour at base and cut in a straight horizontal line)
With blue-green to purple-green florets; olive green leaves light green stalks
Stalk length 50-70mm from bottom lateral
Full firm stalks, no evidence of bud opening or sprouting (over mature)
For maximum shelf life, it is best kept at temperature between 0-5 degrees.
